Job Title: Assistant Manager Level 1 FLSA Status: Non-exempt Reports to: Store Manager (or similar position) Job Type: Full time POSITION OVERVIEW In conjunction with the Store Manager, assists in managing all operational aspects of a store according to company policies and procedures; and ensures the store operates in a manner which optimizes sales and profitability and reflects a consistent Commercial Tire image to its customers. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensure all employees attend monthly safety meetings and comply with company safety goals, which include reporting of accidents and completing required documentation * Trains and supervises employee’s work. Assigns work schedules and specific work duties. Resolves employee grievances and discipline * May lead store audits to ensure compliance. Knowledgeable in all facets of a store environment * Completes accounting functions daily (invoices, re-bills, End-of-Days, night deposits, inventory receipts) per company policy * Coordinates and conducts product knowledge training; ensures on-the-job training programs are applied; and attends and participates in training workshops as directed by the Store Manager and/or outlined in the company training program * Maintains the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction. Communicates the importance of customer service to all employees and ensures timely resolution of customer complaints * Ensures telephones are answered promptly and courteously * Ensures all work expected of the location is completed * Ensures adequate staffing based on store volume * Ensures safety, store hours, store cleanliness and personnel issues all fall within the guidelines of company policy * Knowledge in all facets of store operations * Provides customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service while sensitive to their needs * Champions safe work practices and Commercial Tire’s safety guidelines and standards. Safety Audit. Number of WC claims, score on safety audit, incidents * Identifies new sales opportunities and obtains unit sales goals in assigned areas * Supports and promotes operational compliance scores for company audits (Operational and Safety) * Supports and promotes Commercial Tire Safety standards and in shop vehicle inspection process * Other duties as assigned ACCOUNTABILTIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES * Obtains Sales and Gross Profit goals in assigned categories * Supports and promotes operational compliance scores for company audits (Operational and Safety) * Supports and promotes Commercial Tire Safety standards * Supports and promotes in shop vehicle inspection process COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS * Directing Others * Process Management * Customer Focus * Tire Industry Knowledge * General knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook. QUALIFICATIONS – Required. * Valid Driver’s License and Insurable Driving Record * 2-years related experience in the tire industry * High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus some college or technical school (preferred). ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS Physical Demands: * Standing: 75% | Walking: 50% | Sitting: 25% * Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces * Frequent lifting/carrying: up to 50 lbs * Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping and dexterity * Constant visual, auditory, and verbal communication required Work Environment: * Frequent exposure to noise, dirt, dust, mechanical vibration, fumes, and outdoor conditions * Occasional work in extreme heat/cold or wet/humid environments * Occasional hazards due to mechanical equipment, moving objects Equipment Operated: * Company-provided software and system for work orders and inventory * Tire machines, compressors, air tools and hand tools * Required to use protective gear (PPE) Compliance & Acknowledgment - This position must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
