This role will assist the Department Manager in supervising assembly processes, ensuring the production of high-quality products, meeting deadlines, and achieving operational goals. The Assistant Manager will also focus on driving efficiency, encouraging team engagement, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Operations Oversight: Monitor workflow, resource allocation, and team performance to maximize efficiency and maintain quality output. Troubleshoot issues in the assembly line to reduce downtime and ensure smooth operations. Assist in planning, organizing, and overseeing daily assembly operations to ensure production schedules are met. Partner with the department manager to identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity. Represent the department in meetings and provide updates on operational performance when needed. Team Supervision: Supervise and support assembly team leads and operators to ensure roles and responsibilities are executed effectively. Provide coaching to team members, fostering a safe and positive working environment. Assist in recruitment efforts by participating in hiring and onboarding of new team members and working with other department sections to facilitate cross-training to build workforce versatility. Collaborate with engineering to ensure team executes testing while accurately following proscribed testing procedures. Collaborate with engineering to continuously evaluate and improve testing procedures to increase efficiency and overall product quality. Ensure adherence to quality standards, identifying and addressing any discrepancies to meet organizational expectations. Review and interpret metrics, including defect rates and production metrics, to identify areas for improvement. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to reports on production efficiency and team performance. Safety and Compliance: Promote a culture of safety by enforcing adherence to workplace safety regulations and company policies. Consistently implement and uphold 5S standards to create and sustain an organized, clean, and efficient work environment. Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly setting, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Strong understanding of assembly processes, production scheduling, and inventory management with a proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools. Exceptional communication, team leadership, and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to analyze data and track workforce performance metrics. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills.
