Barking Dawg Market is a medium sized market in at the base of the Sunday River Ski Mountain in Newry, ME. Our goal is to provide a friendly and hospitable atmosphere for people to find anything they may need on the mountain.
Our work environment includes:
Responsibilities:
- Assist the store manager in daily kitchen operations and management of the retail store and kitchen
- Make food in the kitchen, including pizzas, sandwiches, lunch specials, grab-and-go items, and more
- Ensure food safety best practices are being followed at all times
- Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with their inquiries and purchases
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions and handle cash
- Assist in training and supervising retail and kitchen staff
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Assist in visual merchandising and maintaining store appearance
Skills:
- Strong kitchen skills, strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of retail and kitchen management principles and practices
- Experience in sales, preferably in a retail environment
- Proficient in using POS systems and handling cash transactions
- Basic understanding of retail math
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
