This role involves independently managing daily café operations, including baking pastries, preparing sandwiches and coffees, delivering excellent customer service, and occasionally supporting the production kitchen when needed.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Location: Holborn/Marylebone
  • Working hours: 30-35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Shifts: Predominantly morning shifts from 5:00 AM to 3PM, with occasional earlier starts and later finish.
  • Starting Salary: During probation we offer a competitive salary of £15.69 per hour plus £1.69 holiday pay, reaching £18 per hour plus holiday pay after a successful probation period.
  • Future Growth: Opportunity to advance to Manager position with a salary potential of up to £20.70 per hour plus 20 days of paid holiday.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the General Kitchen Manager in daily kitchen operations, including supervision and quality control.
  • Assist with food preparation and presentation to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Prepare and serve coffees to our customers.
  • Inspire and motivate the team through a hands-on approach and a commitment to excellence in food quality, cleanliness, and team collaboration.
  • Occasionally handle foot delivery of products to clients within the city, requiring comfortable navigation skills using Google Maps.
  • Help manage inventory and procurement of kitchen supplies.
  • Maintain operational efficiency.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role within London (e.g., Chef, Assistant Manager, Kitchen Manager)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Barista skills
  • Proven experience in managing a team
  • Ability to handle a minimum daily production of 3k
  • Proven ability to work swiftly and precisely under pressure
  • Be a quick learner, who is punctual and adaptable
  • Ability to commute to Central London
  • Ability to start work at 5am occasionally
