ASSISTANT MANAGER, CARE SERVICES, WINDSOR, ON

The Assistant Manager, Care Services supports the delivery of high-quality care to residents. This position provides guidance to the nursing and personal support worker (PSW) teams and ensures that care practices meet professional standards, applicable regulations, and the needs of residents—especially those living with dementia.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with current registration in good standing.
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience in seniors’ housing, retirement, or long-term care settings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in dementia care and responsive behavior management.
  • Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and support PSW staff.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant healthcare legislation and resident rights.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Human resources and/or labor relations experience an asset.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Clear vulnerable sector check, recent TB test, and proof of immunizations required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to nursing and PSW staff.

  • Support staff scheduling to maintain adequate coverage at all times.
  • Assist with payroll review and related administrative tasks.

  • Guide and support PSWs in delivering safe, respectful, and compassionate care.
  • Promote a collaborative, positive work environment and open communication.
  • Assist with staff performance management, coaching, and development.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of resident health records and staff files.
  • Foster a culture of safety, respect, and dignity for both residents and team members.
