Job Description Get to Know the Team Commercial Strategy & Operations team works with stakeholders across all departments to drive strategic plans for business growth and continuous improvements across Deliveries, E-commerce (GrabMart and Jaya Grocer) and Grab Financial. We turn insights into outcomes by identifying growth opportunities, designing practical strategies for demand generation, and leading end‑to‑end execution that scales. Get to Know the Role This role, sitting in the commercial team, You will act as the strategic anchor that bridges Commercial and Operations, balancing promotional growth strategy, optimal stock availability and financial budget adherence. You will partner with Grabbers across Category Management, Marketing, Logistics, and Finance. This partnership will drive campaign planning, lead forecasting models, and track commercial performance. The goal is to ensure we build a sustainable, scalable, and profitable E-commerce operation from the ground up. The Critical Tasks You Will Perform 1) Demand Planning & Commercial Growth: Own the demand signal and drive category growth in partnership with category managers and marketing. This includes: Campaign Planning: Use data driven insights on category performance, user behaviour and market landscape to plan campaigns and promotional uplifts while ensuring stock availability through demand forecasting Lifecycle Management: Identify slow moving and obsolete stock early and propose clearance strategies to maximize category profitability. Assortment Review: analyze sales velocity, customer behavior, and basket composition to advise category managers on which SKUs to expand, reduce, or rotate. 2) Forecasting & Inventory Planning: Suggest the inventory replenishment logic, including safety stock levels to balance between Fill Rate (Customer Experience) and Shrinkage (Waste). This also includes cold start forecasts for new assortments 3) Performance Analysis & Budget management : Own commercial tracking of the business against the budget. Lead root cause analysis for performance variances, including campaign effectiveness to grow demand, forecasting logics for stock availability, category margin performance and accordingly make recommendations to leadership for improvements. 4) Operational Excellence & Process Design: Build scalable planning processes from the ground up. You will design the initial inventory planning, demand planning, budget management workflows to streamline how demand signals translate into inventory planning, campaign ideation and operational execution. Qualifications What Essential Skills You Will Need Minimum 4 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or procurement ( in eCommerce, retail, or FMCG). Strong eCommerce background, with understanding of key levers such as assortment planning, pricing & promotions, supplier funding, and retail media monetization. Data driven decision making with an ability to extract actionable performance insights from complex datasets to inform program design and lead iterative optimization. We will prefer any experience using SQL and applying AI-driven insights and tools to category strategy and operations. Demonstrated expertise in influencing P&L outcomes through strategic and data-driven recommendations Proven ability to excel in high-growth environments, while delivering high-quality results within timelines.
