QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to university degree level in any discipline
  • Minimum 2 years chartering/commercial experience, preferably within the Tanker sector
  • Experience of working in a blue chip environment preferred
  • Possess strong analytical skills
  • Developed commercial skills within S&P and project functions
  • Skilled in commercial/chartering systems and data technology
  • Skilled in external data sources and self-propelled in the analysis of the same
  • Preferable 3 spoken languages

Responsibilities
  • Recommending and executing commercial strategies for the pool vessels, including charter market outlooks, future trades or vessel to engage and through continued measurement ensure that the targets set are met, and, if required, suggest alternative tactics
  • Specifically employ relevant vessels in the spot market with a view to maximizing TCE, through securing highest possible income while optimizing laden/ballast ratio’s and minimizing idle time
  • Keeping the pool management advised of developments with the Manager Charterings area of responsibility and matters of general interest and recommend corrective actions to be taken, if the established budget and targets affecting the income of the pools are not reached or can be improved.
  • Ensuring with competent party that all legal aspects and liabilities are properly evaluated and sought covered as necessary prior to entering contracts.
  • Executing FFA (freight forward agreements)/derivatives via Hafnia Freight in the relevant market segment in accordance with authority vested by prevailing authorization matrix and instructions from HOD
  • Keeping relevant commercial “systems” updated.
