Description
Key Responsibilities Develop import business from Rest of Tamil Nadu (Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur, Salem and surrounding clusters). Identify and onboard importers, traders, manufacturers, and commodity buyers and influence routing to Cochin. Coordinate with overseas suppliers/exporters and align them with local buyers. Promote coastal shipping for diversion of East–West coast cargo currently moving by road/rail. Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, feeders, freight forwarders, and logistics players at a regional level. Provide commercial and logistics solutions across containerized and commodity cargo segments. Track market intelligence, competitor activity, and support tariff/scheme inputs. Act as the primary commercial interface for customers in the assigned market. Candidate Profile 5–7 years total experience, with 2–3 years handling imports in Rest of Tamil Nadu. Experience in ports, terminals, shipping lines, freight forwarding, or logistics is mandatory. Strong understanding of import supply chains, port operations, and hinterland cargo movement. Proven ability to develop new business, convert cargo, and manage key customers independently. Fluent in English and Tamil; working knowledge of Hindi required. Willing to travel extensively as per business requirement; based in Coimbatore.
