Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Costing

  • Managing the cost accounting function including submission of timesheets, hours analysis, standard cost development and maintenance, inventory accountability, distribution of factory labour, verification of actual costs and variances in order to have a strong control of expenses.

Team Management

  • Managing the team and supervising day to day activities including cost application documents to check that they are executed within the assigned deadline and to meet the deliverables.

Tax Compliance

  • Review of all VAT transactions, reporting & compliance as well as providing any required training for stakeholders in order for to complete timely VAT submissions and to comply with the legislative VAT framework and guidelines.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the organization's tax liability.
  • Ensure strict adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations, keeping abreast of changes and updates.
  • Oversee the preparation and timely submission of accurate tax returns and related documents.
  • Manage tax audits and reviews, collaborating with external auditors and tax authorities.
  • Conduct in-depth research on tax issues, providing expert analysis and recommendations.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams to ensure compliance with tax policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of tax compliance policies and procedures.
  • Identify and assess tax-related risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and other departments to ensure coordinated and compliant financial practices.
  • Generate and present regular reports on the organization's tax compliance status to senior management.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the organization remains proactive in compliance efforts.

Fixed Assets & Inventories

  • Managing fixed assets and inventory and overseeing all related activities including fixed assets register, write offs and discrepancies, intangible and investment properties as well as managing physical counts of fixed assets & inventory to maintain accurate records.

Policy Development

  • Reviewing and developing VAT policies in order to implement the correct processes and procedures as per VAT guidelines.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • BIG 4 Experience - Mandatory
  • Bachelor’s Degree – related to Accounting / Finance – Required
  • Professional Qualifications / Relevant Certification - Advantage
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Prior experience in Costing and VAT
  • Proficient in English
