· Proven experience managing teams, particularly in unionized environments.
· Minimum five years of experience in a cruise, operational, and/or security environment.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Assistant Manager, Cruise Ops is a key team member responsible the supervision of the overall ground transportation programs, cruise operational plan, cruise programs and partner relationships for the cruise terminal. The Assistant Manager will monitor and support the cruise terminal operations including cruise processes, ground transportation, security and pre-board screening while communicating immediate concerns/issues that arise in a timely manner and in compliance with Ceres Security and Operations Plan, policies, and procedures.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Oversee the Coordinators, Cruise and Security Operations (2) and the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (VFPA) Traffic Attendant team (35 - 40). Supervising real-time operational activities which impact upon or affect the terminal operations and coordinate activities to mitigate impacts to the operations.
· Hire, train and liase with the US CBP Cruise Representatives team (25 - 30) while supporting operational activities and communicating any issues with US CBP Supervisor, VFPA and SSA Management team. Communicate with the lead cruise representative regarding operational requirements, and review team scheduling. Support training as needed.
· Oversee the hiring process for each reporting staff member and conduct corrective interviews with staff when necessary.
· Support ground transportation systems and cruise programs including but not limited to the following: Ceres Vehicle Dispatch Systems, Vehicle Licensing Program, Direct to Bus – isolated passenger transfer from pier to airport, Luggage Transfer Programs and Customer Service Training Programs.
· Support and provide training and development to Cruise & Security Coordinators, Cruise Programs Lead, Cruise Assistant, VFPA Traffic Attendants, and Cruise Representatives through formal and informal activities including role modeling, monitoring and on the job coaching.
· Meet and work collaboratively with members of the City of Vancouver, Vancouver Convention Center, Various Event Teams, Vancouver Taxi Association, Passenger Transportation Branch, Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement Team, Vancouver Police Department – Vehicle Enforcement Branch and Traffic Authority and all ground transportation providers (bus drivers, limousine, shuttle and private tour operators).
· Assess and update the Cruise Operations Plan as contractually required. Provide each season an overall Ground Transportation Plan for the cruise facility which takes into consideration the current cruise schedule.
· Collect and analyze Ground Transportation data to identify opportunities for improvement – i.e., passenger breakdowns, taxi wait times, and limousine pre-books and pre-hires.
· Review and edit reports, budgets, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
· Plan and execute internal and external events.
· Review and suggest improvements for terminal signage (electronic and static signs). Develop signage layouts.
· Review branded documents to ensure corporate and client branding standards are met.
