Description

(This is a fixed-term contract position of 2-year with the possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance.) The Assistant Manager, Data Analytics Infrastructure, will lead the design, deployment, and management of scalable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure that supports the Authority’s data democratisation and AI initiatives. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and close collaboration with data scientists, engineers, business stakeholders and vendors to ensure the data ecosystem and the platform effectively enable business insights, AI model development, and deployment at scale. You will be responsible for: supporting the team manager in designing the architecture, deployment, and operational management of the Enterprise Data Analytics Platform and Data & AI infrastructure, with digital transformation and data democratisation goals; designing scalable infrastructure strategies that integrate multi-cloud and edge environment computing to optimise AI and analytics performance; collaborating with data engineering, analytics, AI/ML teams, and business units to ensure infrastructure supports efficient data workflows and AI model lifecycle management; developing and implementing governance models and processes to ensure data quality, compliance, security, and stewardship across the Authority; collaborating with IT infrastructure, architecture, and business application teams to ensure that infrastructure security aligns with evolving regulatory needs and the Authority's requirements; supporting the procurement and tender processes, including vendor selection and technology evaluation; managing the vendor for infrastructure and platform implementation and maintenance to ensure successful delivery and operational excellence; staying updated on emerging technologies related to data and AI solutions, and make recommendations for improvements and innovations; and performing any other duties from time to time as the Authority may reasonably direct. You should: possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Big Data Analytics, or a related field; have a minimum of 7 years of experience managing data infrastructure and/or enterprise data platforms with proven leadership; demonstrate solid experience with cloud data and integration services (eg. Azure, AWS, Alicloud), data lakes/warehouses, AI infrastructure, and governance tools; have strong knowledge in cloud data management, which encompasses data ingestion and orchestration, DataOps/AIOps, data quality management, enterprise data modelling, and data-related technologies, including but not limited to data platforms, data analytics tools, data visualisation and dashboards; have experience in vendor management, including contracts, SLAs, and performance metrics; possess relevant certifications, such as Azure Data Engineer, Azure Solution Architect, or related certifications, are highly desirable; have knowledge of data and AI governance practices, regulatory compliance, and data security best practices; be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese; and have excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
