We have moved our existing setting in Kippax (which is highly thought of and you can read our 5 star reviews on Google) over to Allerton Bywater and expanded our provision to 72 children. Our aim is to ensure that every child develops his or her full potential in preparation for the next stage of their school journey. We are looking for:-
an Assistant Manager/Early Years Co-Ordinator
You will be qualified preferably at Level 6, however applications from Level 3 and above will be considered. Your qualification will be (full and relevant) and you will have in excess of 5 years experience in childcare and in particular have experience working with babies and Toddlers 0-3
All applicants must have paediatric first aid, or be willing to complete this before employment begins.
Hours 8.30am - 4.00pm
5 days a week 35 hours

We are seeking a passionate, experienced and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. The roles involve overseeing the delivery of the early years curriculum primarily with our youngest children aged 0-3, creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the development of children in their early years. The Early Years Co-ordinator will play a crucial role in fostering children’s development, progress, social, emotional, and cognitive growth while ensuring their safety and well-being.

SKILLS

  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
  • Strong knowledge of how to care for babies and children under 3.
  • Leadership skills to guide and inspire both children and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively.
  • Experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • A nurturing attitude towards children, fostering an environment of trust and support.
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum

Responsibilities
  • Being a role model for staff in how to plan and deliver good quality activities for children 0-3
  • supporting staff to ensure they are able to understand how good quality interactions support children’s progress and wellbeing
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Help staff to foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained.
  • Support staff to manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting positive interactions among children.
  • Mentoring staff, students and volunteers including running their induction programmes
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and staff are fully aware of them
  • Take the lead on ensuring outdoor activities are planned, in place and staff are interacting with children in the outdoor spaces
  • Working in room two days per week to model good practice and interactions with children and to support ratios.
  • Observe staff and students providing feedback to them. Carrying out joint observations with management.
  • Providing timetabled cover for other co-ordinators to have release time
  • Reporting to management on progress of staff and any CPD they may require
