We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join our Finance Operations team. Working alongside the Finance Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in overseeing our accounts payable and accounts receivable teams across multiple jurisdictions, including Jersey, Guernsey, Hong Kong, and London.
In this role, your work will be varied and impactful, involving leadership, coaching, and the day-to-day management of financial operations. You’ll take the lead on managing bank accounts and cash management in line with internal processes and industry regulations, as well as supporting the continuous improvement of systems and processes to enhance accuracy, productivity, and control.

ABOUT YOU – ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree-level education and/or a professional qualification in finance is desirable.
  • Proven track record of successfully operating within a partnership culture and/or professional services environment.
  • Collaborative team skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with team members and wider stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing and developing a team
  • Confident and effective communicator able to work effectively at all levels within an organisation.
  • Able to demonstrate high levels of initiative and decision-making capability and to be comfortable working within a results driven environment with accuracy and focus.
  • Personal organisational and time management skills and the ability to understand and prioritise the workload of self and others.
  • Relevant working knowledge of financial reporting systems and their application within a large and complex business.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Support the Finance Operations Manager, overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Coach and develop a team of financial operations professionals, ensuring the team has the skills and resources to meet operational goals.
  • Work with each team member to meet objectives and maximise their potential through effective development plans.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions in line with the firm’s policies and approval limits (AP and AR).
  • Ensure that daily and month-end bank reconciliations for various jurisdictions and currencies are complete on time.
  • Develop and implement efficient processes and systems for financial operations, enhancing productivity, maintaining control and reducing errors.
  • Ensure that cash received into the business meets all required policies and is accurately recorded expediently.
  • Administer client monies accounts (receipting of incoming funds, processing of outward payments, ensuring relevant due diligence in accordance with internal procedures); obtaining a clean audit opinion.

In addition to the duties listed above, you may be required to perform any other ad hoc duties or projects as requested by the Finance Operations Manager and Finance leadership team.
