We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager – Front of House to help lead our restaurant team. Position Overview The Assistant Manager – Front of House supports daily operations in the dining room, leading staff and ensuring every guest receives an outstanding experience. This role partners with the General Manager to uphold operational standards, team performance, and Virginia Diner's service culture. Schedule Expectations Virginia Diner is a 7-day-a-week operation Position requires a mix of day shifts, evening shifts, and weekend shifts Evening shifts end by 9 PM — no late nights Requirements Guest Experience • Ensure exceptional hospitality and prompt service for all guests • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally • Maintain dining room cleanliness, organization, and service readiness Team Leadership & Training • Lead FOH team during assigned shifts • Train, coach, and develop new and existing staff • Promote a positive, respectful, team-focused environment Operational Duties • Perform opening and closing procedures • Oversee cash handling and POS operations • Support staffing, scheduling, and floor management • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and food-handling standards Administrative Support • Assist with inventory and supply ordering • Uphold company policies, procedures, and performance expectations • Support management with reporting and operational tasks as needed Qualifications • Previous restaurant supervisory or management experience is a plus • Strong communication and customer service skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure • Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
