Responsibilities

This position serves as Senior Manager of the Club (alongside the Club Manager), with key responsibilities for member-facing interactions, business administration, and assisting with business planning.

  • Support the club all financial operations of the Club, working closely with the Club’s accountants. This includes full accountability for budgeting, cash flow, profit and loss (P&L) management, and overall fiscal oversight, with assistance from the Finance Support.
  • In the absence of the Club Manager act as key contact for the club for all emergencies/issues that may arise.
  • Provide direct line management for the Front of house team, Keyholders and cleaning teams, managing HR matters, including disciplinaries (in coordination with the Club Manager) and ensuring effective leadership and guidance.
  • Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of all Club facilities, including 9 squash courts, 11 tennis courts, the gym, changing facilities, communal areas, reception, bar, kitchen, and general grounds.
  • Support the Club security, including lone working protocols, keyholder management and training, and alarm monitoring systems.
  • Support the management and development of the Club’s calendar of events, including host events, as well as the organisation of Club-run activities, with a focus on increasing participation across all areas.
  • Engage with the membership and maintain a visible presence within the Club, contributing to a warm, welcoming, and open environment where members feel comfortable voicing their feedback, and their views are actively considered
  • Support and drive the management and growth of the Club’s membership base. This includes overseeing the application and renewal processes, member recruitment and retention strategies, conducting satisfaction surveys, and generating relevant reports.
  • Ensure full legal and regulatory compliance, including managing affiliations, insurance policies, GDPR adherence, and other necessary regulatory requirements.
  • Improve and oversee the ‘customer experience’ and member satisfaction levels, in collaboration with the Club Manager.
  • Oversee and manage member-related issues, including handling complaints, addressing concerns about behavior, and ensuring that all matters are resolved professionally and in line with Club policies.
  • Serve as an out-of-hours emergency contact (shared with the Club Manager) in the event of a serious incident.
  • Be the responsible person on-site, alongside the Club Manager and Supervisors, to address day-to-day operational matters, carry out compliance checks, and handle emergencies as needed.
  • Participate as part of the Club’s safeguarding group, acting as a point of contact in the absence of the Safeguarding Lead.
  • Perform other duties as required and agreed upon.
