Harvey’s Sports Bar & Grill is looking for an experienced, hands-on Assistant Manager to support the management team and help lead the venue into its next chapter. Located in the heart of St Kilda, Harvey’s is a fast-paced sports bar and grill known for great food, ice-cold drinks, live sport and a buzzing atmosphere. From packed game day crowds to busy weekend services, Harvey's is building a venue that delivers an exceptional experience every time. They are looking for a leader who thrives in a busy service, supports their team, and is passionate about raising the bar for food, beverage and service standards. Key responsibilities: Support the management team with daily venue operations Lead from the front during busy service periods and major sporting events Support labour control, rostering and stock management Maintain accurate records including sales, timesheets, invoices and stocktakes Assist with staff inductions, training and on-the-job development Help set clear expectations and support performance management where required Monitor guest experience and resolve issues professionally Ensure RSA, food safety and workplace safety procedures are followed Maintain high standards of venue presentation and follow up maintenance issues Contribute to creating a positive, high-performing team culture Prior experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor or team leader in a hospitality venue, ideally in a bar or food and beverage environment Strong passion for sport and confidence operating during major sporting events Comfortable using electronic food and beverage POS systems Strong interpersonal and communication skills Punctual, enthusiastic, positive and solutions focused Able to work autonomously and support the wider management team Relevant hospitality qualification, RSA and food safety certification First aid certification desirable What success looks like Smooth execution during busy services and major sporting days A well-supported and motivated team Strong customer satisfaction and repeat visitation Accurate records and effective stock control A venue that is well presented and running to standard Positive culture: Supportive, inclusive workplace with a strong focus on training, safety and career growth Competitive salary: Market-aligned pay with opportunities for performance-linked rewards Career development: Funded training, clear progression pathways and support for relevant qualifications How to apply: If this sounds like you, then please click on the "Apply" button and follow the prompts.
