Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team.
The Assistant Manager will support the General Manager and Operations Manager in the smooth and efficient running of the bar and restaurant, ensuring consistently high standards of customer service, food and beverage quality, cleanliness, team performance and overall guest experience.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working in a busy hospitality environment, leading by example and creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership
· Support, motivate and lead the bar and restaurant team on a daily basis.
· Lead by example and maintain a positive, professional and friendly working environment.
· Assist with staff training, inductions and ongoing development.
· Allocate duties and organise staff breaks and shift responsibilities.
· Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
· Assist with staff rotas and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
· Deal professionally with staff issues and escalate matters to the General Manager where appropriate.
2. Bar & Restaurant Operations
· Assist with the day-to-day running of the bar and restaurant.
· Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly.
· Maintain high standards of service throughout every shift.
· Monitor table service, bar service and customer flow.
· Ensure food and drinks are delivered efficiently and presented to a high standard.
· Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, deliveries and stock rotation.
· Help minimise waste and control costs.
· Ensure tills, cash handling and end-of-shift procedures are completed accurately.
3. Customer Experience
· Provide a warm, friendly and professional welcome to all customers.
· Ensure customer needs are met promptly and efficiently.
· Deal confidently and professionally with customer feedback or complaints.
· Help create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business.
· Maintain excellent standards of hospitality throughout the venue.
4. Standards & Compliance
· Ensure the bar, restaurant and surrounding areas are clean, tidy and well presented at all times.
· Follow all food safety, licensing, health & safety and company procedures.
· Ensure responsible alcohol service procedures are followed.
· Carry out regular checks of the premises during service.
· Report maintenance, safety or operational issues promptly.
· Assist with ensuring all relevant records and checklists are completed.
5. Events & Busy Periods
· Assist with the organisation and smooth running of functions, private events and busy service periods.
· Coordinate staff during weddings, parties, Christmas functions and other events.
· Ensure service standards remain high during particularly busy periods.
· Work closely with the kitchen, bar and management team to ensure effective communication.
