Job Description: Assistant manager - daytime only!

We’re Opening in Cambridge – November 2026!

We’re excited to be opening our brand-new café in Cambridge this November, and we’re looking for a talented and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join us from day one.

This will be our third hospitality venue, so you’ll be joining an established, independent business with a proven track record - but with the opportunity to help shape a brand-new café, team and culture from the very beginning.

We’re a fun, independent business with a big focus on great food, great service and creating a workplace where people enjoy coming to work.

And there’s no late-night hospitality here. We’re a DAYTIME ONLY café, giving you the opportunity to build a rewarding career in hospitality while enjoying a better work-life balance.

If you’re someone who loves hospitality, enjoys working with people and wants a role where you can genuinely make a difference, we’d love to hear from you!

About the Role

As Assistant Manager, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to help run the café day to day, lead the team and maintain the high standards we’re known for.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being involved in every part of the operation. You’ll support the General Manager with the running of the business, while taking ownership and responsibility when they’re not there.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the team during service and lead by example
  • Deliver a friendly, welcoming experience for every guest
  • Support with opening and closing the café and ensure each shift runs smoothly
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness and presentation
  • Support with team training, development and progression
  • Help create a fun, positive and supportive team environment
  • Support the General Manager with ordering and stock management
  • Keep on top of food safety, hygiene and EHO compliance
