KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER OFFICE The Knowledge Transfer Office serves as the bridge between the University and the community for the transfer of knowledge, expertise, skills and capabilities in campus-wide disciplines. We implement various initiatives to encourage and facilitate knowledge transfer (KT), including but not limited to the protection of intellectual properties of the University, organising activities to engage internal and external stakeholders, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship activities, and formulate strategies and policies towards the holistic development of the University’s KT. The Office now invites applications for the position below: Assistant Manager (Funding) (25260543) The appointee is expected to report to the manager of Knowledge Transfer Office, the Assistant Manager (Funding) and will play a key role in managing funding administration and supporting the start-up community. Responsibilities: * Provide secretarial and administrative support for entrepreneurship funding programmes; * Assist with the initial assessment of funding applications; * Consolidate progress and final reports from the grantees to facilitate funding disbursement; prepare data analyses and statistical reports; * Prepare correspondence, agendas, minutes and materials for meetings, and ensure timely follow-up actions; * Organise sharing sessions, support marketing activities and new projects as assigned; * Coordinate internal and external resources to organise high-impact entrepreneurship trainings programmes and events to foster the growth of HKBU startups; * Liaise with external parties, including business partners, investors and service providers; * Maintain a good knowledge of the market trends, pathways to impacts and build network with the community for potential collaborations; and * Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned. Requirements: * A recognised bachelor's degree or higher in science, engineering, business or a related field; * At least 5 years of relevant work experience in funding programme administration, start-ups supporting, or a related field, preferably in the technology industry; * Familiar with the University's policies and regulations; * Good understanding of the challenges faced by start-ups; * Strong communication and interpersonal skills; * Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize tasks; * Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented mindset; * Good working knowledge and work experience in public sector organizations and/or start-ups community development would be an advantage; and * Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese). Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written assessment. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
