DESIGNATION : Assistant Manager/Manager, Estates & Security

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in maintenance operations, facilities management, or building services, with experience in the museum, cultural venues or heritage sector preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC/ACMV systems, electrical, fire protection systems, BMS), and health and safety regulations.
  • Registered Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certification is required.
  • Familiar with SCDF, BCA, EMA, NEA, and WSH regulations and submission processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple maintenance tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience in team leadership and vendor coordination.
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with all internal and external stakeholders, providing operational support and feedback.
  • Ability to work beyond standard hours during urgent incidents, exhibitions setup, or major events.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assistant/ Manager, M&E is responsible for the hands-on management of the museum’s day-to-day facilities and maintenance operations, ensuring the upkeep of essential systems and compliance with safety standards. This role involves close coordination with the Assistant Director to support strategic projects, business continuity planning, and reporting requirements. The Senior Manager ensures the museum’s infrastructure is fully functional and aligned with its operational goals, including overseeing maintenance activities at the museum’s vacant site, SJI/8Q.
