  1. High School diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  2. Five (5) years’ experience in healthcare materials management highly preferred
  3. Two plus years’ supervisory experience, preferred

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

Primarily responsible for overseeing the day to day process of ordering, inventorying, and monitoring the supplies needed for all surgical cases. Works closely with the Peri-Operative Service Materials Manager on cost saving initiatives, product conversions, and physical inventories.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Coordinates incoming/outgoing movement and storage of supplies and surgical equipment.
  2. Supervises work and personnel associated with receiving, shipping, materials handling, clean supply storage, and expediting open orders.
  3. Managing all supply replenishment functions based upon surgical volumes. Forecasting supply orders based upon Operating Room Surgery schedule.
  4. Ensures material availability and delivery.
  5. Oversees the day-to-day activities and departmental productivity. Strong customer service skills.
  6. Leads and directs the work of other employees.
  7. Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.
  8. Provides back up coverage for the processes of ordering, distributing and inventorying supplies/equipment
  9. Lead all aspects of scheduled physical inventories, including preparation, coordination and execution.
  10. Analyze reports and utilize systems to manage and coordinate departmental materials.
  11. Ensures materials management data integrity across all systems.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
