Description Summary: Messerli Kramer, an established Twin Cities law firm since 1965, is looking for a full-time Assistant Manager to join our team in Plymouth, MN. The Assistant Manager is responsible for the day to day production of the Collections Department, overseeing 4 Collection Supervisors and 40 Legal Collectors. This position works alongside the Project Manager with both positions reporting to the Director of Operations. Our call center is very customer service oriented and primarily deals with recovery of credit card debt through all phases of the legal cycle. This role focuses on execution, coaching, and daily operational consistency on the Collection floor. The Assistant Manager focuses on people leadership and daily production, while the Project Manager owns workflows, inventory strategy, and cross-functional initiatives. An Assistant Manager who prioritizes fundamentals across the floor will excel in this role. Essential Functions and Duties: Uses scorecards and performance analytics to identify trends, set priorities, and partner with supervisors on targeted performance improvements. Assign daily priorities to Supervisory staff, monitor queue coverage, and ensure supervisors are focused on the right activities. Monitor client change log and update procedures relevant to the Collection Department Assist with client audits and call calibrations. Overseeing controls and remediation training as needed. Conduct interviews of prospective candidates for the department as needed. Evaluate internal office policies to ensure they are compliant and driving the correct behaviors. Daily interactions with staff, answering questions, providing feedback on ideas or requests. Monitor policy adherence. Conduct coaching based on observations. Conduct coaching, performance management, and; when necessary, disciplinary action. Leads within a consumer-respect-driven collections model that emphasizes collaboration, ethical recovery, and long-term outcomes over short-term pressure tactics.
