We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Mainland and International Affairs Office. Major Duties and Responsibilities The Assistant Manager, in collaboration with the Director of the Mainland and International Affairs Office (MIAO), will be responsible for the following: Implementing Global Engagement Strategies: Develop and execute action plans to establish partnerships with universities. Collaborate with academic units and global exchange partners to support the development and administration of various programs, including advising students on program logistics, facilitating orientations, managing financial aspects related to student support, and providing administrative assistance for related initiatives. Managing Non-Local Student Recruitment: Identify and evaluate potential student recruitment partners, manage partner networks, and deliver training to ensure compliance with HKMU's policies. Execute the non-local student recruitment plan for prioritized regions in the global market. Manage partnerships with service providers and schools within these regions, and be accountable for the recruitment pipeline that ultimately leads to the enrollment of international students at our university. Assist management with HKMU's external engagements, including managing incoming visits from partners and higher education institutions. Managing student engagement programs to provide non-local students with practical local work experience, professional skill development, and enhanced integration within the blended learning environment. Providing executive and team support to the Mainland and International Affairs Office, as well as related committees and working groups. Performing any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Mainland and International Affairs or their delegate(s). Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of experience in global engagement within higher education; experience in student mobility, non-local student recruitment/ engagement is advantageous; Experience in Mainland/ Southeast Asia and/or Central Asia is a plus; Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills in business-level English and Chinese (including Mandarin), both written and spoken; A solid understanding of the international education industry and the ability to navigate multicultural settings effectively; A flexible attitude toward work, including a willingness to work weekends and evenings to support recruitment activities both locally and internationally; and Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Officer position.
