POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Manager of Collections supports the overall collections function by overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring timely recovery of outstanding receivables, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role collaborates closely with the finance, sales, and customer service departments to minimize risk and ensure compliance with company policies

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable or collections, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Solid understanding of credit and collections practices, laws, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial software systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise daily collections activities, including monitoring aging reports and prioritizing accounts.
  • Assist in developing and implementing collection strategies to improve cash flow and reduce delinquency rates.
  • Work closely with customers to resolve payment issues and negotiate repayment plans when necessary.
  • Support month-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and reporting on collection performance.
  • Monitor customer credit limits and payment behavior, escalating issues as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Coach and support collections staff, ensuring adherence to performance goals and professional development.
  • Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to address billing disputes and support customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare regular reports on collection metrics, aging trends, and risk exposure for senior management.
