Opportunity Bridal is a ‘one-day only’ pop-up bridal retailer based out of Cambridge, Ontario. Our one-day bridal gown sales events are hosted at hotels and other venues throughout Canada.
We are looking for positive, energetic individuals to join our team. If you enjoy working within the bridal event industry, directly with brides and bridal parties along with the satisfaction of hard work while traveling to new cities each weekend we want to talk with you now!
We are seeking a full-time Assistant Events Operations Manager.
The Assistant Events Operations Manager candidate must have a proven track record of reliability, sales, and leadership. Carry an energetic positive attitude embracing a collaborative spirit with minimal supervision and an ability to make decisions benefiting the entire operation.
Proven organizational and communication skills both, verbal and written, are required.
A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience and a valid driver’s license is required.

WHILE NOT REQUIRED, THE FOLLOWING SKILLS ARE SEEN AS AN ASSET:

  • Bilingual - French and English
  • Bridal - experience in the wedding or bridal industry
  • Alterations - basic knowledge of tailoring and sewing
Responsibilities

THE ASSISTANT EVENTS OPERATIONS MANAGER’S ROLE IS DESIGNED TO DELIVER ON THE FOLLOWING 5 CORE ‘POP-UP’ SUCCESS AREAS:

  1. Leadership - This position reports directly to the owners and will work closely on company-wide opportunities, challenges, and tasks in order to operate successfully. Opportunity Bridal adapts to new situations to enhance the company’s success. We are looking for our Assistant Events Operations Manager to play a key role in our continued success.
  2. Team Management – The Assistant Events Operations Manager is responsible for aiding in building effective ‘one-day only’ event team training. Opportunity Bridal employs both full-time staff and temporary “day staff” from local markets for each ‘one-only event’ sale. The Assistant Events Operations Manager should be leading by example to control concise, clear expectations of both permanent full-time and temporary staff.
  3. Product Management– Having the highest quality bridal gown inventory for customers is key to maximizing sales. It is important to provide feedback on inventory (designs, styles, and sizes) that appear conspicuously absent including suggested customer retail price points while yielding a targeted profit margin.
  4. Cost Management– Opportunity Bridal operates as a discounter with low margins and high sales volume. All costs are managed closely to ensure maximum profitability. The role includes cash management, inventory control, stock display and repackaging, and expense management. Cost control means maintaining and protecting event products and recommendations that provide the best quality and cost-benefit for the company.
  5. Sales Management –The Assistant Events Operations Manager is responsible for all customer service issues, both positive and negative. The role includes overall event sales, discounting, listening for opportunities, and converting hesitation to considerations to sales. Ensure successful operations of all pop-up events through questions and concerns stemming from past events with a keen focus on growing future revenue and effective cost management.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Visual Product Presentation– provide feedback to the setup team for

continuous improvement

  • Success Manager - ensure lead generation and sales through marketing,

bridal shows, customer follow-up

  • Inventory Manager - suggestion and assistance with the purchasing of new

bridal gowns

  • Thought Leader – initiating new ideas, promotions, and execution planning
  • Scheduling - setting and maintaining efficient team, product, and event

schedules

  • Proactive – respond to challenges with a positive, high-energy attitude to

avoid reactive and costly mistakes
