Responsibilities: You will be responsible for supervising the procurement functions of Medical Surgical Consumables procurement. You will also be responsible for keeping close liaison with end-user departments and Warehouse & Distribution. You will also assist in developing and executing inventory / procurement strategies, coordinate with internal teams, collect and compile information, analyse purchasing trends. Specifically, you will be responsible for: Regularly monitoring requisitions and making purchase orders within the stipulated time for the timely delivery of ordered items Obtaining quotations from suppliers, analyzing and evaluating these to make/recommend effective purchasing decisions Ensure compliance with institutional procurement procedures and ethical supply chain management conduct, thereby maintaining complete transparency in all purchasing decisions. Undertaking market surveys and market intelligence studies to enable/recommend effective purchasing decisions by meeting people, reading newspapers, magazines, purchasing journals, and using the internet Making effective negotiations with suppliers for obtaining competitive prices Meeting suppliers to strengthen business relationships; understanding market trends, introducing new products, and resolving day-to-day issues Meeting customers (end-users) regularly to understand their needs, future projects, resolve their issues, and queries Improving purchase turnaround time through timely delivery of products Review and control freight cost through informed decision Ensuring proper documentation of all purchasing transactions. Inventory analysis. Monitor inventory level regularly to ensure availability of supplies in the hospital and avoid expiries. Maintain fill rate and inventory turnover as per KPI. Requirements: You should have: Master’s in business administration or equivalent, preferably in Supply Chain Additional degree/ certifications in Procurement/ Supply Chain will be considered as an added advantage At least three years of working experience in all fields of Supply Management, including Purchasing, Inventory Management, and Logistics Hands-on relevant experience in the Healthcare/ Hospital industry will be an added advantage. Excellent negotiation skills and ability to persuade and influence Excellent financial and analytical skills; Leadership and management skills. Ability to manage staff. Use of appropriate computer software for the preparation of financial comparisons and other purposes Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Able to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the senior management.
