Assistant Manager ‐ QA Lab (BASED AT BIYAGAMA) Noyon Lanka, originally a joint venture between a French lace company and MAS Holdings, is a global leader in lace design and production. With design libraries in France and Sri Lanka and production facilities across Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and China, Noyon creates unique lace designs for international brands. We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to join Noyon Team. This role would be enabled to implement quality assurance, control systems and processes and provide advice to ensure that the product and process quality meets customer specifications and standards throughout the life cycle of all product qualities from product development through to bulk production whilst ensuring that the ‘voice of the customer is at the heart of all business decisions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead & oversee all activities of the Quality Assurance laboratory to ensure that all work is carried out as per established, standard procedures in order to facilitate timely testing and dispatch of quality-controlled goods to customers Attend pre-productions on all new products, participate at the pre-production meetings with the customer, internal teams ahead of bulk manufacture so as to assess and advice upon whether new product proposals (including lab dips) meet all required physical tests for quality and technical parameters. Attend the pilot appraisal process in conjunction with representatives of other production processes, ensure data availability for comparison against product specifications whilst highlighting any issues with the team and propose solutions so as to meet requirements of product specifications Oversee the work, liaison with the greige sourcing, knitting teams to make sure that all greige is in accordance with the standards for physical parameters such as pattern repeats, width, stretch, bursting etc. Liaison, communicate with other relevant personnel, make decisions regarding product physical quality issues including non-conformity, taking customer standards, requirements, plant capability, standards, commercial acceptability into account and propose solutions to the production teams, raise NCR’s and oversee implementation of corrective action to prevent re-occurrence of such issues Continuously strive to maintain customers’ requirements pertaining to physical performance of lace, end use and negotiate with customers where necessary in order to obtain timely agreement of test results so that agreed delivery flow of bulk merchandise is maintained Ensure all lab equipment are calibrated, serviced as per schedule and thereby facilitate the continuous accurate operation of the equipment KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Relevant Degree plus at least 3 years relevant experience Good Leadership and Communication skills Degree in Textile Engineering or Physical
