Role Overview The Assistant Resource Manager will support the management and coordination of local permit, licensing, and regulatory approval processes related to data center development and construction projects in Malaysia. This role requires a strong understanding of construction project coordination, regulatory submission processes, and stakeholder engagement with local authorities to support timely project execution and compliance with Malaysian regulatory requirements. Experience in data center, industrial, or critical infrastructure projects will be an added advantage. Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred as the role will involve frequent coordination with Mandarin-speaking consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Permit & Regulatory Coordination Support the end-to-end coordination and tracking of local permits, approvals, and regulatory submissions including: Development Order (DO) Earthwork Permits o Building Plan (BP) Approvals BOMBA submissions and inspections Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) Utility and infrastructure-related approvals Other regulatory approvals required for project development and operations Coordinate submission timelines, document readiness, and follow-ups with consultants, contractors, and internal project teams to support timely approval processes. Assist in monitoring approval status, identifying delays or bottlenecks, and escalating issues where necessary. Government & Stakeholder Coordination Support engagement and coordination with external stakeholders including: MBJB / PBT and local authorities PLANMalaysia and relevant state agencies BOMBA and regulatory departments Utility providers and infrastructure agencies External consultants and contractors Attend meetings, technical discussions, authority engagements, and site inspections together with internal teams and project stakeholders. Maintain positive working relationships with authorities and external stakeholders to facilitate smoother approval and coordination processes. Construction & Project Coordination Work closely with internal Development, Engineering, Construction, and Project Delivery teams to ensure regulatory and permitting activities are aligned with overall project schedules. Support coordination between site teams, consultants, and authorities to ensure compliance requirements are addressed during project planning and execution phases. Assist in tracking regulatory milestones and ensuring approval dependencies are incorporated into project execution timelines. Documentation, Compliance & Reporting Prepare, organize, and maintain accurate documentation for permit submissions, authority correspondence, inspections, and regulatory approvals. Maintain proper filing and tracking systems for all permits, licenses, approvals, and compliance-related documentation. Provide regular progress updates, status reports, and issue tracking to the Senior Resource Manager and project teams. Support audit readiness and operational compliance by ensuring all documentation is properly maintained and accessible. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Architecture, or related field 3–6 years of relevant experience in construction permits, regulatory approvals, or project coordination Experience in data center, industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale development projects is preferred Familiarity with Johor regulatory and permitting processes including BOMBA, CCC, BP, and local authority approvals will be an advantage Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred Preferred Attributes Strong understanding of construction project coordination and regulatory approval processes Good stakeholder management and communication skills Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up capabilities Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment Able to coordinate effectively between technical teams, consultants, contractors, and authorities Strong sense of accountability and urgency in driving approval timelines and project deliverables DayOne is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
