If this resonates with you, keep reading. Coast Coal Harbour Vancouver Hotel by APA has relaunced Prestons Restaurant + Lounge, and we’re looking for an Assistant Restaurant Managers. Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, steps from transit and surrounded by the energy of Coal Harbour, Prestons is being reimagined as a hotel restaurant locals will actually want to return to. Typical Schedule: This role will generally include a mix of morning and evening/closing shifts — approximately 2 morning shifts and 3 evening shifts per week — with 2 days off. Candidates should be available to work weekends and holidays as required by business levels. Responsibilities: Checks and maintains service and food preparation standards Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and engage ambassadors Provides guidance and direction to ambassadors, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance Supervises the handling of cash, cheques, credit cards transactions, cash floats and bar inventory control Handles guest complaints, follows through with appropriate action Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the team Assists with promotions and marketing initiatives on all social media channels Develops and maintains positive relationships with repeat guests Monitors the quality of work and provides feedback on the degree to which operational standards are met Creates weekly work schedules for the restaurant team Effectively communicates goals to the team Maintains health and safety standards and complies with all regulations Other duties as required Skills/Knowledge/Experience: Degree/Diploma in Hospitality preferred or Hospitality industry courses in Hotel Management Minimum 2 years supervisory experience Preference will be given to candidates with Squirrel and Open Table experience Exceptional communication & multi-tasking skills Ability to deal with fast paced customer service oriented environments Hepatitis A vaccination is recommended Food Safe and Serving it Right Certification an asset Demonstrates superior customer service philosophy Exemplifies Coast’s core values and enjoys working in a culture of accountability Able to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings, weekends and holidays Bonus points if you know how to create buzz through events, social media, and large group bookings.
