JOB SUMMARY

Are you passionate about outdoor gear, energized by team leadership, and thrive in a dynamic, guest-focused environment? As an Assistant Manager in our Retail Department at Grouse Mountain, you’ll play a key role in the daily operations of all retail outlets across the mountain. Working in collaboration with our Retail Manager, you’ll bring an eye for product and industry knowledge to work with vendors and reach department KPI goals, knowledge of trends and anticipatory understanding of needs and wants for our visitors alongside strong leadership skills to contribute to the mountain experience for both guests and our team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail operations, preferably in sportswear
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Ability to drive sales
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to drive a Guest Obsessed culture
  • Ability to think and act strategically, work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Exceptionally strong oral communication skills, ability to develop rapport and credibility
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of staff and external contacts and brand reps
  • Strong skills with Word, Excel & Microsoft Outlook and POS systems
  • Understanding of SQL database reports and PowerBI reporting an asset
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays
  • High energy, outgoing, approachable and strong work ethic
  • Successful candidate must complete a criminal record check once offered the position. The check must be completed prior to start date if you are 19 years and older. Grouse Mountain will assist you with the process.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs
