The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) at Nanyang Technological University is an interdisciplinary school that aims to be a world leader in environmental research focused on Asian environmental challenges. The ASE integrates earth and environmental life science, ecology, engineering and technology, human ecology, humanities, and the social sciences to address key issues of the environment and sustainability.
We are hiring an Assistant Manager / Senior Assistant Manager, Field & Laboratory Coordinator for the ASE Field, Lab and Safety Office. The incumbent is required to manage the operations of undergraduate teaching field courses.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience in planning and coordinating field courses or related educational or research programs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage logistics and coordinate diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and risk assessment procedures for fieldwork, particularly in international settings.
  • Budget management experience, including planning, forecasting, and expenditure control.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate introductory and advanced field courses in Geosciences, Ecology and Human Societies, including field components of lecture courses, to ensure successful execution and coordination of undergraduate field experiences.
  • Assist in developing and executing safety plans, including drafting risk assessments and procedures for local and overseas field courses.
  • Arrange logistics and procure equipment to support undergraduate field courses including, but not limited to, meals arrangement, accommodation, permits application, and transportation for all field trips.
  • Responsible for budget planning, forecasting, management, and expenditure control for field operations.
