Roles & responsibilities Working as an Assistant Manager in this team, your responsibilities will include but not limited to: •Possess knowledge and understanding for corporate income tax requirements and accounting requirements in APAC countries. •Review of draft corporate income tax returns and statutory accounts for APAC countries and ensure the compliance with the tax regulations. •Provide tax compliance and advisory services to trusts, corporation and partnerships for various clients.. •Reviewing Statutory Accounts under IFRS and US GAAP. •Delivering on a range of technical accounting and tax advisory engagements. This will include: •Analyse financial data, tax adjustments and supporting documents to verify the accuracy of reported figures. •Identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors in tax returns, ensuring adjustments are made before filing. •Review calculations related to tax credits, deductions and other relevant factors to minimize tax liabilities. •Proactively monitor changes in the tax laws and interact with key client engagement team/onshore team to gather information and resolve tax-related problems. •Provide guidance and feedback to the team on tax return issues, complex calculations or regulatory updates. •Assist in preparing tax-related reports and summary for stakeholders as required. •Acting as a Subject Matter Expert on technical accounting matters (US GAAP/IFRS). •Providing accounting advisory support and research to clients,- including implementation assistance with new accounting standards •Managing a team of staff to support the engagement delivery and managing staffing resource decisions as required for the engagement. Manage a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope and act as the point of contact for the onshore team Mandatory technical & functional skills •Understanding international and local tax requirements as well as US GAAP and IFRS framework and ability to research technical topics efficiently and effectively. •Ability to research, read, comprehend and critically examine accounting standards and tax pronouncements in order to have an informed point of view is a MUST •Demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment. •Working knowledge of Taxlabs, XPA, XERO, TR-Onesource or similar tax tools. Project and Team management exposure •Prior experience in project scoping, effort estimate, project work planning, team handling, staffing, providing feedback, etc. •Led team on projects and experience of handling direct reportees including their performance management
