JOB DESCRIPTION: ASSISTANT MANAGER

Responsibilities
  • To work with the Partners and the team and supervise daily operations; ensuring the team works cohesively to provide outstanding guest services and ensure standards and expectations are met – including appropriate staff planning on a weekly basis.
  • When working in the office to maintain high levels of customer care, being attentive to customers’ needs and being clear with all information, handling sensitive data with integrity, care, and inline with data protection laws.
  • To be clear and confident when communicating online, on the phone or in person so that guests get the best impression of the hotel – in particular. managing both the hotel booking system and website content
  • To train all new members of the team in a front of house role, ensuring everyone is adhering to the law and the standards set out by the Partners. In addition, re-training of current team members, training on new equipment or processes.
  • When and where necessary, to be responsible for cash and credit cards received from the customer for room payments, bar and restaurant and to account for these payments at the end of the shift/week.
  • To calculate and submit payroll via Quickbooks, and feedback to the Partners, whilst liaising with the accountants regarding any other payroll enquiries.
  • The processing and allocation of VAT invoices every month, in a timely manner, in accordance with the accountant’s guidelines.
  • Managing stock levels in the bar and the restaurant, including ordering, stock check/rotation, record keeping and maintenance/cleaning scheduling.
  • Liaising with linen provider regarding stock levels, business needs, linen quality, ordering, etc.
  • To always be an ambassador for the Knights Court Hotel – acting professionally at all times
  • To observe the company’s fire plan and health and safety policy
  • To observe the rules and procedures of the company
  • To carry out any other reasonable duty that may be requested by the Partners
