Position Title: ASSISTANT MANAGER
Job Type: FULL TIME
Location: CRANBROOK
Compensation: Annual Salary & Bonus – Based on Experience

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The ideal candidate would join our team in an assistant manager role with the pathway to manager in the next several years. The opportunity is ideal for someone in the Building Supply Industry looking for a longer-term investment for the time they put in. Assistant managers are responsible for assisting with the overall operation of the store day-to-day for employees, profitability, and assets. They are hands-on and manage the business from the front sales counter. They have a strong sense of business acumen and experience within the Building Material Supply Industry that gives them the ability to serve the markets they are in.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Some post-secondary training is an asset
  • Ability to identify, source, grade and sell lumber, moulding, flooring and specialty woods
  • Ability to generally understand & interpret building blue-prints and building codes
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel & Outlook

KEY EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years of functional hands-on building material supply experience
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience
  • Able to use woodworking machinery for minimal routine operation in the shop
  • Permanent resident of Canada with an active Drivers License is preferred
