Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Marketing and Communications assistant works on the Marketing team, in collaboration with the Recruitment and Admissions teams, to implement communication strategies and tactics for Fairleigh Dickinson University Vancouver Campus and provide customer service, administrative and clerical support to the team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, responding to general applicant and agent inquiries emails, phone calls and in-person visits, updating, and filing of records and documents, conducting campus tours, and assisting with on-campus marketing events and activities. The Marketing & Communications Assistant will support the rest of the Marketing team as necessary to accomplish enrollment goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required in a related field of study. Equivalent work related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  2. Experience in the processes and procedures of recruiting students for study in Canada for post- secondary programs preferred.
  3. Experience in customer service and strong understanding of communication and marketing fundamentals and tactics.
  4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  5. Knowledge of Marketing and Admission policies and procedures, and capable of communicating the same.
  6. Capable of accurately maintaining student database.
  7. Ability to accurately handle and process large numbers of inquiries.
  8. Self-motivated, self-directed, and assertive.
  9. Capable of making decisions on their own when required and able to work with minimal supervision
  10. Ability to initiate collaboration and work collaboratively with others.
  11. Demonstrate ability to work effectively as an integral member of a communications team.
  12. Strong sense of customer service.
  13. Computer proficiency for word processing, spreadsheet, and data management applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Word preferred. Familiarity with Ellucian is a plus.
  14. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  15. Must be willing and able to work overtime and/or at other FDU locations as required.
  16. Canadian residency or valid work permit required.
  17. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Insurance Number.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responds to email and phone call inquiries from students, agents, and partners.
  2. Assists the Marketing and Recruitment team during marketing events and activities that occur on campus.
  3. Performs general office administrative duties.
  4. Updates and files records (electronic and paper), including generation of new files, in Recruit or other systems for students and agents.
  5. Maintains knowledge of application and admissions processes to effectively support prospective students and applicants.
  6. Prepares and distributes enrollment reports as needed to support other Marketing & Recruitment team members.
  7. Supports the Admissions team as needed with applicant communications.
  8. Supports the Recruitment team with agent training and communications as needed.
  9. Advises on improved student communications and workflows.
  10. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
