Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and dedicated Assistant Nurse to join our growing home healthcare team. The successful candidate will work closely with Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, personalized, and high-quality care to patients in the comfort of their homes.


The Assistant Nurse will support patients with their daily care needs, assist with nursing procedures within their scope of practice, monitor and report changes in patient condition, and help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.


The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent patient-care skills, professionalism, empathy, and a strong commitment to maintaining patient dignity, safety, and confidentiality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility.
  • Provide compassionate and respectful support while promoting patients' comfort, dignity, independence, and well-being.
  • Assist Registered Nurses in delivering patient care according to individualized care plans and clinical instructions.
  • Monitor and accurately record patients' vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
  • Promptly report any changes in the patient's health condition, behavior, or vital signs to the supervising nurse.
  • Assist with medication administration under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Support nurses with basic nursing procedures and patient-care activities within the Assistant Nurse's scope of practice and level of competency.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records, care notes, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure patients' rooms and care areas are clean, safe, hygienic, and comfortable.
  • Follow all infection prevention and control, health and safety, and patient safeguarding protocols.
  • Assist with patient repositioning, transfers, ambulation, and mobility while following proper manual handling and safety techniques.
  • Provide emotional support, reassurance, and companionship to patients and communicate respectfully with their families.
  • Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and dignity at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with Registered Nurses, physicians, supervisors, patients, and family members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Accompany and assist patients during medical appointments, hospital visits, or other healthcare-related activities, when required.
  • Respond appropriately to patient needs and escalate any concerns or emergencies to the supervising nurse immediately.
  • Perform other nursing support and patient-care duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse or supervisor.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Nursing, Assistant Nursing, or a relevant healthcare qualification.
  • Valid DHA License or DHA Eligibility Letter.
  • Previous experience in home healthcare, hospital, clinic, or long-term care is preferred.
  • Good English communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused, and professional attitude with a strong commitment to quality patient care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to maintain accurate patient records and care documentation.
  • Good understanding of patient safety, infection prevention and control, and basic healthcare practices.
  • Physically and mentally capable of providing patient support and assisting with activities of daily living.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
