* Assists the Registered Nurse in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care. * Is familiar with, and understands, the Severe Care Domains of DOH. * Monitors the impact of nursing care and maintains ongoing communication with the Registered Nurse regarding the status of patients in their care. * Demonstrates an understanding and utilization of Evidenced-Based Healthcare. * Advocates in the best interest of the patient and family at all times. * Provides education to the family regarding aspects of care as appropriate. * Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians/therapists with procedures. * Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. * Adheres to dress code; appearance is professional, neat and clean.Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. * Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time. * Is responsible to maintain up to date clinical knowledge and self-directed ongoing education. * Completes annual education requirements. Maintains regulatory requirements. * Attends and participates in annual review and department in-services, as scheduled. * Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner. * Actively participates in Performance Improvement and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities. * Complies with all organizational policies.
