Description
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Director, plans, directs, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates overall clinical and administrative activities of an assigned nursing unit. In the absence of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Director, assumes ultimate responsibility for staff oversight and the care of patients on a nursing unit. Supervises, evaluates, guides and counsels nursing staff in their work performance. Ensures that staffing patterns provide optimal delivery of nursing service. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of nursing theory and practice and principles, methods and techniques involved in providing nursing care, familiarity with organization and function of departments, policies, procedures and regulations and knowledge of principles of leadership and management. Assists in meeting the educational needs of the staff. National certification in Nursing or Healthcare related specialty preferred. Education Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required Other Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Required Master's Degree Nursing or related health care field Preferred Experience 3 years experience in oncology Required General Experience in a clinical leadership role Preferred Licenses Basic Life Support Required PA Registered Nurse License Required Multi State Compact RN License Required Or
