Description The Assistant Nurse Manager, Home Infusion must be able to create a high-performance environment by building upon the existing suite of metrics and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and by coaching and mentoring the Region’s Nursing team to provide exceptional service to PromptCare’s home infusion patients. The ANM must have a strong work ethic and be a self-motivated, energetic, proactive, and positive individual who can make an impact with our growing team. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the scheduling and management of our full-time, part-time and agency nursing staff within the assigned region. This is a hands-on position that requires a Nurse with leadership experience managing a home infusion nursing staff in a fast-paced environment. Nurse Manager must be proficient in all phases of running a field-based Nursing organization, including: motivating the Nursing staff to perform at the highest level, holding each member of the Nursing staff accountable to the highest levels of quality care and patient service, implement existing and developing as needed departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), creating and delivering a comprehensive new hire and refresher orientation/training program for employees, departmental budget management and variance analysis, and implementing a quality program that fosters Nursing excellence. Reporting to: VP of Nursing Job Type: Full-Time Location: Massachusetts Requirements BSN or higher degree preferred Completion of accredited registered nursing program required Active registered nursing license in state(s) of practice and additional states as required without restrictions Valid driver’s license and valid automobile insurance Must be willing and able to get cross-licensed in other states at the company’s request and expense At least 3 years’ experience managing a home infusion Nursing department, or equivalent experience managing a field-based Nursing organization Demonstrated IV skills required Ability to coach, mentor and develop our nurse professionals in an environment of continuous improvement Ability to manage to a departmental budget Strong interpersonal skills to deal with demanding referral source and physician expectations Must have good PC skills, especially the MS Office suite, and the willingness to become a proficient user of the company’s enterprise software system Strong work ethic and desire to serve our referral sources and patients Job Responsibilities, included but not limited to: Assures adequate and appropriate staffing, maintains nursing schedule Evaluates patient experiences for opportunities to improve customer satisfaction Demonstrates the ability to take all the inputs and then make the right decision for our patients Performs ongoing analysis of labor and non-labor costs to drive process improvements and contain costs Ability to train the team on how to properly triage problems in the field in accordance with company standards and other verbal and written training policies PromptCare nursing staff development including orientation, in-service education and continuing education Ensures that Nursing associates follow proper procedures for accurate and timely documentation of patient concerns, and most importantly, takes appropriate corrective actions Maintains strong knowledge of PromptCare’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures that the entire team applies them consistently Maintains compliance to all applicable laws, regulations and SOPs at all times Initiates and drives quality and performance improvement initiatives and fosters a culture of continuous improvement and “white glove” service with the entire team Demonstrates “leadership by example” in projecting a positive attitude, and involvement in PromptCare’s employee activities Ensures nursing department compliance to the QI program Provides direct patient care as needed Participates in the Infusion Nurse on call rotation as needed Provides 24-hour direction for the nursing services and employees when functioning as the Administrator on call Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Manipulate small equipment and containers, such as syringes, vials, ampules, and medication packages, to administer medications. Negotiate level surfaces, ramps, and stairs. Function with both hands free for performing psychomotor tasks. Maneuver in small areas. The employee must frequently lift a minimum weight of 15 pounds or more, and be able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, typing and use full range of body motions.
