JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Office Manager
Full-Time Position
M-F (7:30AM - 4:30PM)
Summary: The Assistant Office Manager will assist with various accounting activities, including but not limited to reconciling statements, general ledgers and schedules. The role will also assist with month-end accounting activities related to general accounting and other tasks as assigned by the Office Manager. This position requires attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills along with strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Essential Duties:

  • Reconciling statements, schedules and general ledger accounts
  • Post payments to vendors
  • Review daily bank accounts and post-funded deposits; verify bank entries for accuracy
  • Review, reconcile and post monthly reserve statements from financial institutions, record adjustments accurately
  • Assist Office Manager with monthly schedule review and analysis, post correcting entries when necessary
  • Assist Office Manager with projects as requested
  • Assist Office Manager with GL postings, A/P, A/R for the outside Transport and Aftermarket Accessory Companies
  • Ensure accounts are balanced and investigate and correct any discrepancies found
  • Assist the Payroll Supervisor with monthly benefits reconciliations, posting and payments
  • Back up Payroll Supervisor for calculating, recording and posting monthly payroll accruals
  • Back up to the Payroll Supervisor for the posting of weekly, monthly and semi-monthly payrolls to the GL
  • Remains fully compliant with Company HR training
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude, wardrobe and grooming
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous accounting experience necessary
  • A strong background and understanding of accounting principles
  • General knowledge of financial statements
  • Must be flexible and adaptable with changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills, able to multitask, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Must be focused, detail oriented, and very through
