Department: Department of Chemistry Job Posting Details The appointee will provide administrative and clerical support to the Department. Duties include assisting in daily office operation including filing, maintaining records and ordering materials; providing administrative and clerical support to academic programs; administering both postgraduate and undergraduate-related matters, liaising with students and other departments; providing secretarial support to faculty members as and when necessary; assisting in event coordination and ad-hoc projects; and carrying out any other duties as assigned. Applicants should have 5 passes including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A or level 2 if results were obtained from 2007 onwards) and Chinese in the HKCEE; ; OR 5 subjects, including English Language, attaining level 2 or above (or equivalent) in the HKDSE. They should possess good computer skills with high proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, etc). Knowledge or experience of website management is a plus. The appointee should also have good interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work independently, handle multi-tasks, and a good team player. Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) is essential. Working experience in student-related activities and/or tertiary/education institutions is preferred. Knowledge in internet applications and website management will be an added advantage. (Duration: 2 years, renewable) Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
