Department: Library Job Posting Details Collection Development is a major functional unit at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Library which oversees the development and management of library information resources. The appointee at Assistant Officer rank will perform a wide range of duties including: Compile collection statistics reports at scheduled intervals Design and run analytics reports on demand Generate usage reports of electronic resources Maintain both internal and public departmental webpages Perform bibliographic checking Process book gifts and liaise with donors Assist in thematic book displays, weeding exercises, and other duties as assigned Shift counter duties The appointee must be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, willing to cross-train in multiple skills, and possess competency in MS Office applications. Knowledge in advanced MS Excel functions, AI tools, and/or Ex Libris Alma is a definite advantage. Shortlisted candidates are required to take a written test. Applicants should have at least 5 passes including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A or level 2 if results were obtained from 2007 onwards) and Chinese in the HKCEE; or 5 subjects, including English Language and Chinese Language, attaining level 2 or above (or equivalent) in the HKDSE with relevant academic library working experience. (Duration: 2 years, renewable) Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.
