JOB SUMMARY

This job is in the Plant family (Department), which includes positions responsible for supervising or performing work metals processing and distribution work. Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations and the materials, facilities and methods employed by Phoenix Metals in metals processing and distribution.

REQUIREDPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 + years of management experience within an applicable industrial manufacturing environment required.
  • High School diploma/GED required, Associate degree in Business or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, cost, inventory and quality management, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods required
  • Understanding of company product(s) and their uses required.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills required.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including analysis, knowledge and experience, and judgment required.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers as well as internal/external customers required.
  • Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications required.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overseeing activities directly related to daily production and plant operations.
  • Assists the Operations Manager in directing and coordinating all production and distribution activities for the organization.
  • Reviews warehouse production reports, activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing program improvement.
  • Responsible for warehouse safety, housekeeping and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Assists the Operations Manager in implementation of organizational policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with other members of management and staff members as necessary.
  • Manages staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.
  • Coaches and mentors warehouse and production staff.
  • Promotes branch production goals, objectives, and systems, and recommends necessary changes to the Operations Manager.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of operations.
  • Develops and promotes feedback mechanisms for employees to promote continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
