An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Manager, Operations to join a specialist banking operations function in London.This is a broad and highly visible role for an experienced banking operations professional who enjoys working across Loans, International Payments, Guarantees, Risk Participations and CDD/KYC, while also taking ownership of operational controls, risk, process improvement and stakeholder management.This is an opportunity to take on genuine responsibility across a diverse banking operations environment, with exposure to both back and middle-office activities and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on operational efficiency, customer service and risk management.

The Role

• Your responsibilities will include:Overseeing day-to-day banking operations across payments, loans, guarantees, risk participations and fixed deposit administration.
• Managing domestic and international payment processing and reconciliation.
• Overseeing loan administration.
• Reviewing loan documentation, collateral agreements and supporting documentation.
• Managing the operational aspects of risk participation agreements.
• Overseeing the issuance, amendment and administration of bank guarantees, letters of credit and other trade finance instruments.
• Acting as a senior point of contact for CDD/KYC and account opening activities.
• Working closely with Compliance to ensure the Operations function remains aligned with evolving AML, CDD/KYC and regulatory requirements.
• Identifying operational risks, implementing appropriate controls and escalating issues where required.
• Leading, mentoring and developing Operations team members, providing guidance, training and support to ensure consistently high standards.
• Monitoring operational workflows and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and customer service.
• Acting as a key contact for internal and external stakeholders, resolving operational issues and providing practical, solution-focused support.
• Preparing and reviewing operational MI and reporting, ensuring information is accurate and complete.
