OVERVIEW

We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to provide day-to-day leadership and technical expertise for the thermal spray department. This position serves as the go-to resource for Thermal Spray Operators, supporting both manual and robotic spray processes. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with thermal spray equipment, combined with leadership skills to guide operators, ensure quality, and maintain safe, efficient production.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5–10 years of experience in thermal spray operations, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment.
  • U.S. citizen (no dual citizenship).
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, twist, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of wearing a respirator and other PPE as required.
  • Comfortable working in a production environment with coatings, powders, and chemicals.

    Pay: From $33.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for Thermal Spray Operators, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Oversee daily workflow in the thermal spray department to ensure production goals and quality standards are met.
  • Operate both manual and robotic thermal spray systems as needed.
  • Train, mentor, and coach operators on processes, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to schedule jobs, allocate resources, and manage priorities.
  • Assist with equipment setup, process monitoring, and adjustments to ensure consistent quality.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and ensure compliance with technical specifications.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization and R&D testing.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and legible handwritten production, quality, and compliance records.
  • Enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and respect.
