Assistant Operations Manager – Youth Justice Service
Location: Ipswich, IP1
Salary: £23.41 (PAYE) or £29.47 (Umbrella) per hour
Hours: 37 per week
Contract Type: Temporary (up to 12 months)
Seven Resourcing is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to join the Youth Justice Service (YJS), part of Children and Young People’s Services. This role offers the opportunity to lead and support a dedicated team working with young people across the South area, helping to make a real difference to individuals, families, and the wider community.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous management or supervisory experience within children’s, youth, or justice services.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, and best practice in youth justice.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • The ability to motivate and develop a team in a challenging but rewarding environment.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As an Assistant Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in the delivery and performance of the Youth Justice Service. You will support the Service Manager in overseeing staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and meeting strategic priorities. The position is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, proven operational management experience, and a passion for improving outcomes for young people.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide effective leadership and management to staff within the Youth Justice Service South team.
  • Ensure services are delivered to a high standard, in line with statutory requirements and best practice.
  • Support the development and implementation of service plans, policies, and performance frameworks.
  • Promote positive outcomes for children and young people, reducing offending and reoffending.
  • Build strong partnerships with other agencies and stakeholders.
  • Monitor performance and report progress against key targets and objectives.
