JOB SUMMARY

The Minnesota Sex Offender Program serves people who are court ordered to receive sex offense specific treatment via the civil commitment process. Program staff provide comprehensive services including therapy, education programming, therapeutic recreation, vocational programming and volunteer services, to clients in a therapeutic environment where safety and security are at the forefront of all campus activities.
The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Group Supervisor at Community Preparation Services (CPS) in St. Peter, MN.
MSOP- CPS is a less restrictive, unlocked residential setting located outside of the secure perimeter.
In this role, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of residential units and provide direct supervision to Security Counselors and Security Counselor Leads. This is a unique opportunity to positively impact client rehabilitation while supporting staff development and program excellence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent AND one of the following.
  • Have one (1) year supervisory experience in a therapeutic, residential or corrective environment;OR
  • Have two (2) years lead work or professional experience in a therapeutic, residential or corrective environment providing counseling, rehabilitative patient care, or direction of client care programs;OR
  • Have three (3) years paraprofessional experience in a therapeutic, residential or corrective environment providing counseling, rehabilitative patient care, or direction of client care programs.

Note: A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Rehabilitation Therapy, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences or a related field may be substituted for six (6) months of experience OR one (1) year of any supervisory experience may be substituted for a maximum of six (6) months of experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with patients/clients with sexual psychopathic personalities, sexually dangerous persons, mentally ill and dangerous, or with developmental disabilities.
