The Opportunity The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) in the College of Health Professions and Sciences (CHPS) is pleased to invite applications for a 9-month, tenure-earning assistant professor or tenured associate professor position to begin August 2026. The ideal candidate will have expertise in adult acquired neurological communication disorders including aphasia, motor speech disorders, and related disorders. The successful candidate will join a diverse faculty and staff in a dynamic university with high research activity (RU/H), a robust clinical program with established patient populations, and an environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and professional development. The candidate will have the opportunity to serve as the Director of the UCF Aphasia House, depending on qualifications and interest. The Aphasia House is a unique clinical setting within CSD that provides an intensive comprehensive aphasia program (ICAP) throughout the year. The ideal candidate will establish a strong research program, obtain external research funding, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise and mentor students, direct student research and participate in school, college, university, community, and national service. Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related discipline from an accredited institution at the time of hire and be eligible for appointment as a tenure-earning assistant professor or tenured associate professor. ABD’s will be considered if degree is earned by the start of the appointment period. To be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor upon hire, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor. Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in adult acquired neurological disorders including aphasia, motor speech disorders, and related disorders. A history of peer-reviewed publications and funded research or the potential for obtaining research funding commensurate with current rank. Demonstrated record of collaboration with interdisciplinary educational, clinical and/or research teams. Demonstrated record of excellence or potential for excellence in teaching and service, commensurate with experience. Demonstrated record of leadership in academic or clinical settings. Clinical certification in speech language pathology (CCC-SLP) or eligibility for CCC-SLP.
