Assistant or Associate Professor of Chemistry – University of Jamestown Position Title: Assistant/Associate Professor of Chemistry Location: Jamestown, ND Employment Type: Full-time, 9-month faculty position, summer courses possible Application Deadline: Open until filled FLSA Status: Exempt The Department of Natural Science at the University of Jamestown invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Chemistry position to begin in August 2026. We are seeking a broadly trained chemist committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate chemistry education. Position Overview: This position will include teaching general chemistry, physical chemistry, and other courses related to their interests and expertise. These could include non-majors courses, and/or upper-level courses in inorganic or analytical chemistry. The individual hired will have a student-centered focus, engage in academic advising of chemistry and biochemistry majors, and participate in faculty service both within the department and in the broader university community. Key Responsibilities: Develop and teach innovative courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels Contribute to departmental and university service Foster an inclusive and collaborative academic environment Minimum requirements: Master's degree in chemistry or a related field. Passion for excellence in teaching at an undergraduate institution. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills Preferred qualifications: Doctorate in chemistry or a related field. Previous higher education teaching experience. Experience in teaching laboratory courses.
