The role
We are seeking an Assistant Paralegal to join our team. The Assistant Paralegal will assist in delivering our conveyancing service with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our legal team in preparing and reviewing legal documents, conducting property searches, and liaising with clients and other stakeholders.
Please note, due to the nature of this role, it will be required for you to be in the office 5 days a week.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage client expectations.
  • Strong written, numeracy, and oral communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy in all tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to prioritise, stay organised, and work efficiently.
  • Flexible and capable of adapting to change and new practices.
  • Able to integrate within a team and work independently.
  • No prior conveyancing or legal experience is required.

Responsibilities
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the conveyancing process and Shoosmiths’ culture and values.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining professional and empathetic relationships with clients.
  • Assist the teams with all administrative tasks within a conveyancing transaction.
  • Deal with client enquiries via telephone and email.
  • Attend to any office administration requested such as dealing with post, filing, file closures
  • Work closely with key contacts and support teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Act as an ambassador for Shoosmiths in all dealings with third parties.
  • Keep electronic files tidy and up to date, manage tasks efficiently, and complete post-completion administration.
